A great Christmas cheer for all that health-giving food packed with nutrients that is probably flowing out of your fridge and the amazing nutritious drink that is about to be poured into glasses for one and all!
You may be wondering what on earth I’m talking about, as your beady eye spies the piles of chocolates, lollies and sugar laden desserts scattered about the house. I am not of course talking about those. By the way sweet treats are only a “treat” if they are a rare thing if you eat these things on a daily or weekly frequency they are just an everyday or commonplace item, not be a treat.
If you are one of the millions of New Zealanders without a sweet treat this Christmas have another treat instead maybe take a walk in the moonlight or in the quiet of dawn or just sit and watch these special times.
Back to the food, it’s all about accentuating the positive. Among all the food you will probably find some of these nutrient rich foods: vegetables, salads, fresh fruit, olives, nuts, avocados, fish, eggs, extra virgin olive oil, a “cold pressed” oil, and if you are very lucky organic (or if not, free range) meat or turkey.
The “Amazing Nutritious Drink” is of course our old friend Water. Since the first life appeared on earth Water was there; it is as essential to life and health now as it was then. A very old friend to us all bringing with it happiness as well as health. With the season which celebrates a very special new life what better drink to drink a Christmas toast than with Water. Though remember Water is not just for Christmas- drink it every day.
Have a Happy Healthy Christmas!
